SureStart
Drum Runners are currently working in a number of SureStart Children’s Centres in Basingstoke delivering a variety of regular workshops for under 5’s and their families.
Workshops include:
· Junk percussion
· Storytelling
· Chinese Dance
· Singing
· Body percussion
· Song
· and even Spoons!
The workshops are an opportunity for children, staff and families to have fun learning together, and to develop their musical, artistic, rhythm and storytime skills.
The objectives of the workshops are in line with EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) aims and also linked with the SureStart aims of:
· Meeting the EYFS aims
· Staff development
· Parental skill development
· Improved family communication
· Community ownership and participation in the centre
· Develop links with local educational establishments
